He looks around, "I'll show ya, there's gotta be a screen 'round here somewhere..." The problem was that sometimes screens were just squares in the sky, sometimes they were the heads of robots, and sometimes they were cameras controlled by other characters. Finding a screen could be tricky, based on what kind of game this was.
But, on the off chance that there wasn't a screen anywhere, looking around town probably wasn't a bad idea.
